Kengät.. Voi ei. Olen hujoppi, vartta on kertynyt 171cm, ja tuolle sulhollekin vain viisi senttiä enemmän. Haluaisin välttää hääpäivänä pilvenpiirtäjäfiiliksen ja keskittyä katsomaan uunituoretta aviomiestäni suunnilleen samalta silmien korkeudelta. Eli, ihanien, kauniiden, ja ennen kaikkea matalakorkoisten, mutta ei kuitenkaan ihan lituskakantaisten kenkien metsästys on päivän sana. Helpommin sanottu kuin tehty, olen sitä paitsi poikkeuksellisen nirso.
En halua perus avokkaita, en teräväkärkisiä, en valkoisia, en piikkikorkoisia. En remmisandaaleja, en ballerinoja, en nilkkalenkkisiä. Ja inhoan slingbackeja. Enkä halua että ne olisivat kalliit.. Pitäshän nyt yhdet hyvät löytyä, eikö vain? :D
Muutaman vaatimattoman kuukauden armottoman etsinnän jälkeen, kyllä vain! Ne löytyi! Yhden pienen kenkäkaupan poistuvasta valikoimasta Kalifornian Pomonasta. Ainoa jäljellä oleva pari minun kokoani. Voi kuinka yksinkertaista. Kengät maksoivat huimat 7,80€. Postikulut Yhdysvalloista päälle, mutta nekin mielestäni suht kohtuulliset. Nyt jännätään jääkö tulliin vai tuleeko heittämällä läpi. Joka tapauksessa, ne on tilattu. Ja ne ovat täydelliset!

The Shoes
Shoes... Oh, no. I'm a fairly tall woman, at least above average, with my 171cm height. And the groom is a whole 5cm taller than me. I would like to avoid feeling like a skyscraper on my wedding day, and concentrate on looking at my new husband on similar eye-level. So, the hunt for a pair of wonderful, beautiful, and most of all low heeled, but not flat shoes is the word of the day. Easier said than done, after all, i'm also exceptionally picky.
I don't want your basic pumps, not ones with a pointy toe, not white ones, nor stiletto heels. I don't want strappy sandals, no ballerinas, no ankle straps. And i hate slingbacks. And i don't want them to be expensive.. Sure i can find good ones, right?
After a couple of months of merciless shoe-hunting, oh yes! I found them! An outlet pair, from a little shoe store in Pomona, California. And the last pair in my size. The shoes cost a whopping 7,80€. Shipping cost added, but a fair one, in my opinion. Now we wait if the shoes get through customs ok, or if i need to pay import charges. Either way, they have been ordered. And they are perfect!
